Elios Ceramica is part of the Italcer Group, a leader in the production of ceramic tiles characterised not only by the quality of its products, but also by the Company’s attention to social and environmental sustainability.
For us, speaking about quality, success, improvement and development is unthinkable without also extending these concepts to the pressing issues of protection of human resources and of the environment. For Italcer, these aspects represent the key to doing business, as well as a strategic factor to ensure our lasting success and our continued ability to compete at a global level.
The ISO 9001 Quality Management System is the “container” that ensures corporate compliance with all the various mandatory and voluntary requirements that an organisation has undertaken to adopt. The QMS provides the Management Team with a complete, up-to-date and reliable database that enables them to make informed and timely decisions, as well as promoting synergistic improvement in line with all processes managed by the various standards.
The ISO 45001 is the first international standard to define the minimum good practice requirements for ensuring the protection of workers around the world. This important Standard serves as a tool for protecting the health and safety of workers, a means to establish a fruitful and transparent relationship with trade unions and control bodies, but above all as tangible proof that organisations can and must do business in full respect of human and individual rights.
Italcer adopts and maintains a systematic process of verification, measurement and monitoring of the performance of its environmental processes. This process ensures corporate compliance with mandatory requirements, enables the Company to have a continuous overview of its management practices, as well as allowing it to take the necessary and appropriate corrective and preventive actions to address any issues identified.
The adoption of a certified Environmental Management System compliant with the ISO 14001 Standard and the EMAS Regulation (EU Eco Management and Audit Scheme), of an Energy Management System and of other environmental standards represent key milestones along a corporate growth path through which we want to make our direct contribution to Sustainable Development and to a transparent and constructive dialogue with our stakeholders.
The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is a tool created by the European Community which companies can voluntarily adopt in order to help evaluate and improve their environmental performance, providing the public and other stakeholders with information on their environmental management practices. The primary aim of the EMAS is to contribute to the achievement of sustainable economic development, highlighting the key role and responsibilities of organisations in this process and promoting their continuous improvement.
The Environmental Management System required by the EMAS is based on the ISO 14001:2004 Standard, while the open dialogue with the public is pursued by requiring organisations to publish an Environmental Declaration containing information and key data concerning their environmental practices and impacts.
The ISO 14001 certification demonstrates that the organisation has an adequate management system in place to monitor the environmental impacts of its activities and that it systematically seeks to improve its practices in this respect.
The objective of the ISO 50001 certification is to enable an organisation to pursue, based on a direct and systematic approach, the continuous improvement of its energy performance. For Italcer, this consists in the natural extension of the scope of our corporate environmental management system, with important repercussions that also impact our economic efficiency.

The VOC certification is a system that certifies the quantity of volatile organic compounds released by a product, labelling the product according to a series of merit-based classes, ranging between A+ (the best class) and C (the worst class). Italcer products fall in class A+, as they do not release substances harmful to humans into the environment.
